Mobile World: CHOHO is a big name in Pakistan; would you like to highlight its brief history?
Jin Yumo: Qingdao Choho Industrial Co. Ltd., was born in 1987, with the developments year by year; we became the biggest manufacturer of motorcycle chain and sprockets. Its brand “CHOHO” is the China’s Well-known Trademark in the line of vehicle chain, and its production and sales stayed on top for 3 years. During last 20 years, it has been developing at a high speed and in a healthy way. Now, Choho Company has become a state-level high-technology enterprise, a leader of automobile chain, and one of the biggest vehicle chain manufacturing basements in the world.
MW: What kind of Products Qingdao CHOHO is producing for local and global market?
JY: Wheel Chains for Motorcycles, Rickshaw, Timing chains, Agriculture chains, Industrial chains and Military chains etc. We are a high-end technology leader of motorcycle chain, and services for global customers relying on advanced equipments and innovative products. Choho Company supplies OEM service for more than 50 enterprises including Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Geely, Jiangling Ford, Piaggio, FAW etc. Agricultural chains cooperate with John Deere, Agco, Claas, New Holland, GDR, Lovol, Jinyee, Juming, Kubota etc. With the mission of supplying high-quality chain for the lifetime same as vehicle’s for global automobile vehicle industry, Choho set up a strong R&D team with the capacity from design calculation and overall arrangement to dynamic simulation and test verification. In cooperation with Jilin University, Choho built up Chinese first automobile engine chain system research institute. In 2010, the Chinese first high quality silent chain was born and achieved mass-production in Choho.
MW: What is the Annual production capacity of CHOHO Drive Chain?
JY: We have more than 1200 staffs and the annual output of motorcycle drive chains is around 30 million pieces. More than 50% are for the global market. Choho brand chains have been sold to Japan, Europe, America and South-East Asia overseas and 30 domestic provinces.
MW: What about CHOHO products Global Sales Network? Global brand and marketing?
JY: We already have more than 200 business partners from more than 60 countries. Furthermore, we have offices in India, Thailand, etc. Yes, we are focusing on being a global brand, and honored to be Honda’s global procurement system supplier. Also we have established the partnership with Yamaha, Suzuki, Piaggio and other world-wide brands. In year 2012 we had set up more than 1600 dealers all over the world. We provide Motorcycle engine chain for Wuyang-Honda, Sundiro-Honda and so on, more than 50 companies at home and abroad. We are serving the global customers with advanced technology, CHOHO Company is willing to work together with global resources to contribute to the future world.
MW: How much is the CHOHO products demand in Pakistan Market? (OEM & After Sales)
JY: Pakistan market is very important to CHOHO. Our chains are very popular in this market. We are supplying most of the Pakistan motorcycle manufacturers including United, Road Prince, Unique, and more than 40 clients in the after-sales market, including Atlas Honda, Future and CRLF brands etc. CHOHO always willing to grow up our partners’ business, we are open to cooperate with their brand, their logo, their design, and their demand. We are here to grow up together. We are also planning to establish a plant for wheel Chains and Sprockets in Pakistan.
MW: Tell something about the Certification and Achievements in CHOHO brand history?
JY: We are honored to be recognized as National Enterprise Technology Center and have drafted China chain national standards. We also gained the ISO14001:2004 and TS 16949 certificates. Choho and the company leading products have reached the international advanced level, took a number of major national research projects and revisions made nearly 20 national or industry standards, won 30 national patents, the industry’s technological progress has played a leading and guiding role. Fully complying with the international conventions and requiring as the international standard Choho Company’s behavior is best in the international cooperation. In 2003, Choho passed ISO9001 certification by strict Norway DNV.
MW: Any plans about business in 2015?
JY: Since the year of 2014, we invested around USD 5 million in the facility of sprockets. All necessary modern equipment and machines from Korea, Taiwan, etc. will be installed and run into production before May of 2015. Therefore, sprockets will be our highlights in this year, with high performance and competitive price under traditional technology, fine blanking technology. Upon higher and higher demand of timing chains from Honda, Yamaha and other motorcycle factories, we, in 2014, built a new workshop. With the increased production capacity, we are able to offer more customers. So, timing chain will be another advanced product in 2015.
