All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce (ACFIC) unveiled the list of “China’s Top 500 Private Enterprises” on Aug. 18; LIFAN ranked 144 with 26.0157 billion Yuan (USD 4.23 billion) business revenue, and declared as first in Chongqing automobile industry.
Meanwhile, ACFIC released the list of “Top 500 Private Enterprises of the Manufacturing Industry” in which LIFAN ranked 98th. It may be mentioned here that the list of “Top 500 Private Enterprises of the Manufacturing Industry” has been published 16 times since 1998.
Chongqing Lifan Holding Co., Ltd toped as the 3rd in rank of “2012-2013 Chongqing Top 50 Private Enterprises”, released by General office of Chongqing municipal people’s government on Aug. 07. The list is synthetically evaluated of the enterprise’s operating revenue, employment, profit, tax situation and the total assets. The list aims at encouraging private enterprises to accelerate the development of private economy in Chongqing.
Chongqing Lifan Industry (Group) Co., Ltd is one of the biggest private-owned enterprises in China. It specialized in motorcycle and motor engine manufacture and sales, as well as automobile manufacture, football industry, Financial Security and Media. More than 8700 people are working for Lifan Group, including over 2000 staff with college or secondary education. Besides Lifan Group has its own technique center with state level.
The output of motorcycle and engine is 1.5 million and 2.5 million respectively, which guaranteed Lifan entering Top 50 Chongqing Industrial Enterprises for consecutive four years and ranking the 1st position in top 50 Chongqing private-owned enterprises. In September 2004, Lifan motorcycle was awarded “China’s Top Brand” by the State General Administration for Quality Supervision. In November 2004, two registered “LIFAN” trademarks of Lifan were awarded by Trade Mark Office of State Industrial and Commercial General Administration as the Famous Trade Mark. Lifan become the unique enterprise that obtained the honor in Chongqing.
In 2004, Lifan realized sales income RMB 5.9 billion. Four standards of the production and sales of engine; capability of exports; quantity of patent possession and general value of production and sales ranked the 1st position in motorcycle industry as well as General Standard.
In 1998, Lifan obtained the right to engage in foreign trade. In 2000, Lifan established the first private-owned Import & Export Company in Chongqing, and earned US$ 52 million of foreign exchange in the same year. In 2001 the sale increased to US$ 117.4 million. This achievement made Lifan the first motorcycle company exceeding US$ 100 million in China’s motorcycle industry and undoubtedly the leading enterprise in exports all over the country. In 2003, the sale was doubled by US$ 203 million, once again Lifan become the unique enterprise exceeding US$ 200 million in Chongqing.
In 2004, Lifan realized export income US$ 242 million. Lifan products are widely sold to more than 100 countries covering South-East Asia, West Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America.
In September 2001, Lifan motorcycles were first time sold to Japan, rewriting the history of no motorcycle export to Japan from China. In 2003, motorcycle and engine developed by Lifan Group passed E-mark accreditation, indicating that Lifan products can enter 18 European countries without any restriction. Lifan set up an outstanding model for Chinese private-owned enterprises and be concerned by Party and state leaders. Chairman of Lifan Ying Mingshan had the honor to meet Hu Jingtao, Wu Bangguo, Wu Yi, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, etc. Former Prime minister Zhu Rongji praised Yin Mingshan “A successful entrepreneur of private-owned enterprise”.
