AL-HAJ FAW used the PAPS Auto Show in Lahore to showcase its new hatchback passenger car; FAW is the official gold sponsor of Pakistan Auto Show since 2013. The V2 hatchback was the highlight of the stand. This vehicle will be the volume-seller for the company when it’s officially launched in coming months.
Most of the visitors took keen interest in upcoming FAW V2 powered by a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder petrol that develops 67 kW of power at 6,000 r/min and 120 N.m of torque at 4,400 r/min. This unit is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated three-day event and visited Al-Haj FAW stall, on the occasion. General Manager Marketing, Al-Haj FAW Motors Farhan Hafiz briefed him about investment of the company being new entrant and products which have already taken market place in very short span of time.
This will be the first right-hand-drive export market to get the V2 and FAW claims that its introduction “follows a six-month local test and evaluation programme to ensure its suitability for local conditions”.
Standard features of the vehicle include air conditioning, electric windows all around, an MP3-compatible audio system, electrically-adjustable side mirrors, remote central locking, four-way adjustable driver’s seat, driver and passenger air bags, ABS brakes with EBD, headlamp leveling and front and rear fog lamps.
Other FAW models at Auto Show included the FAW XPV passenger van, FAW Carrier light commercial pickup and FAW Sirius on display inside of Hall-A and heavy commercial trucks & prime movers were displayed outside.
